UMPIRE TRAINING COURSES

The ECB run courses at various locations during the winter months so new and existing umpires can be trained appropriately to officiate in recreational cricket.

These courses will give new umpires the skills, knowledge and confidence to stand as an umpire, and no prior experience of umpiring is required.

ECB Umpire Courses

The next umpire courses are listed below when available. These courses are suitable for anyone wishing to learn more about officiating and qualify as an umpire – no previous umpiring experience is required.

Whatever level of the game you wish to support, this is the starting point in your umpiring journey.

Get involved, learn new skills and embark on your own self-development as well as supporting our great game through officiating.

So, if you are thinking about supporting the junior or W&G sections at your club through umpiring, or are thinking about hanging your boots up and umpiring in league cricket, this course is the place to start.

Following the course, ourselves & the Lincolnshire ACO (Association of Cricket Officials) will be on hand to support with next steps, immediate umpiring opportunities and further education as desired.

We also continue to liaise with leagues around an offer to reimburse participants the cost of the course if they go on to stand in six matches in a particular league as an appointed umpire.
