School of the term
Term 4 2023-24 – St George’s C of E Community Primary School
Congratulations to St George’s C of E Community Primary School, our Chance to Shine, Primary School of the Term for Term 4 of the academic year 2023-24.
We asked the staff team for some feedback and they said that their pupils enjoyed the engagement with cricket from the assembly through to the coach-led sessions. The Playground Leader sessions enabled the children to support their peers and younger children in playground activities. The teachers also fed back that they felt more confident in delivering the sport as the plans provided clear steps and learning outcomes. The access to the resources on the Chance to Shine portal, now leaves them with the confidence and ability to deliver sessions in future.
Celebrate your school’s cricket activities – We recognise and want to celebrate the fantastic work going on in our Lincolnshire Schools. Starting from Term 4 2023, each half term the winning school will be selected from those who have received our full programme and will receive a framed certificate and bag of cricket kit to show our appreciation for your hard work in supporting cricket in your setting. We’ll also announce School of the Year awards here as well!
We will share your success by developing a brief case study report to be posted onto our website and Lincolnshire Cricket’s Social Media platforms – with your approval.
We will also let Chance to Shine charity know of your wonderful work www.chancetoshine.org/primary-schools which will lead to potentially further sharing of good practice and recognition for your school?
What makes you a winner?
A school or a teacher who in our opinion is:
- Inspiring children to be excited about cricket
- Staff teaching and encouraging pupils to play cricket
- Staff using cricket as a medium to develop pupil’s learning across the curriculum
- Developing a culture of cricket in their schools including taking part in competitions (internally and externally)
- Supporting pupils on their cricketing journey – transition from school to clubs.
