We are pleased to report that Barkston & Syston CC, a community cricket club near Grantham in the South-West of the County, has benefited from the County Grant Fund this Summer. The club has received £7,934 to enable them to enhance their current social space and surrounds as well as providing improved signage and access to the site.
The area around the side of the pavilion has been paved, new seating purchased, and barbecue facilities have also now become a fixture on the ground. These developments follow the hard work done by the club last year to install new practice net facilities and a sponsors signage area.
Barkston & Syston CC are a hard-working local community club, offering a wide range of opportunities for many local children & adults to participate in the sport.
The club is running the national All Stars programme & Dynamos Programme once more this year with many youngsters enjoying the last 8 weeks or so of activity in a family friendly safe and fun environment. The club are also in the process of reviving their older end junior section & most excitingly of all have this week begun a programme of Women’s Soft Ball Coaching – and we hope to see them at some local festivals later this summer! Add to this the senior Sunday side playing in the Lincoln & District league each weekend.
The club continues to improve thanks to the effort of a band of volunteers, the community & the members of the club are grateful for all these people do & it is wonderful to be able to support this kind of club in this way.
