Long Sutton CC’s renovations with County Grant Funding Support
Long Sutton CC, a community cricket club in the South-East of the County, has benefited from the County Grant Fund this Summer
The club has received £10,000 to enable them to fully renovate their toilets and shower facilities in the pavilion. Not only has this made them smarter and tidier, but now with the new configuration and improvements generally these facilities will be welcomed by all players, male and female.
The home changing room has had new individual toilets and shower facilities allowing privacy with 4 separate units, whilst the away changing room has benefitted by an extra 3 shower cubicle spaces.
Long Sutton CC are a hard-working local community club, offering a wide range of opportunities for many local children & adults to participate in the sport.
The club continue to run the national All Stars programme & Dynamos Programme once again and as last year not content with running these they have also offered another set of ASC / DC Programmes throughout August for girls only. The club continues to promote a family friendly safe and fun environment, with older junior provision for children aged up to 15, and then on to Senior cricket where they field multiple weekend teams. The club also promote Women’s Cricket with coaching opportunities and for the past couple of seasons they also run a community Women’s Soft Ball Cricket festival – where they have reached out to numerous people and groups locally to support this wonderful day.
In the last few weeks, the club has run a cricket week with lots of different themed games and events aimed at pulling the club and wider community together, including their annual armed forces game and day – celebrating worthy people and raising money for good causes and the aforementioned Women’s Soft ball day.
The club continues to improve apace, with many of the club volunteers working hard across several aspects of the club. These volunteers have gone on to win individual awards for their service to the club at county level – and the club picked up the Community Club of the Year award at last year’s Active Lincolnshire Physical Activity and Sports Awards.
A well-run club, developing the game at all levels, and providing an excellent link to the local community, we thank the group of volunteers, the community and the members of the club for all they do and it is great that we are able to support this club in this way.
