Following a review of Lincolnshire Cricket’s structure around performance, the decision was taken to create a new, full time position titled ‘Head of Performance’.
The new Head of Performance will act as the strategic lead for all aspects of the performance pathway across male and female pathways. The Head of Performance will manage and oversee the delivery of pathway programmes at all levels and will play the lead role in shaping the future of Performance cricket in Lincolnshire. In addition, the Head of Performance will act as the lead coach in a number of key areas within the pathway with a particular focus on NCCA (previously known as Minor County) competitions.
Having conducted a thorough recruitment process, Lincolnshire Cricket are delighted to announce that Eddie Burke has been appointed to this role and will begin in post in early May. Whilst Eddie will continue to lead the junior age group pathway, this new role will allow additional resource and focus to be deployed across the senior and women and girl’s pathway in particular.
As a result of this process, Mark Fell, current Lincolnshire County Cricket Club Head Coach will be stepping away from leading the first XI and Development teams, a role that Mark has carried out with distinction over a significant period of time. Mark will continue to lead the first XI until the end of the current T20 campaign, 8th May.
Lincolnshire Cricket would like to take this early opportunity to wish Mark all the very best for the future and to publicly thank him for his outstanding service and contribution to cricket in the county, both as a player, captain and later coach to Lincolnshire County Cricket Club during a period that spanned 3 decades. It is hoped that Mark will continue to add value to cricket in the county in other areas. Mark’s final home game in this role will be this Sunday as Lincolnshire take on Cambridgeshire in back to back T20 fixtures at Grantham CC’s Gorse Lane ground. The action starts at 11 am and everyone is welcome to attend.
